Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Broomfield FISH! Give the gift of your time and talent as a Broomfield FISH volunteer and make a direct impact.  Our volunteers are vital to the work we do! They sort and track food donations, meet with clients, assist at fundraising events and much more.

Please sign-up below for shifts that work best for you. If you have not completed a FISH Volunteer Application, you will need to do so when you arrive at FISH for your first shift.

FISH is NOT accepting court-ordered community service volunteers at this time.

Adult/Group Volunteer Opportunities

Fill out our Adult Volunteer Interest form if you are 18 years old or older and would like to come in and help at FISH! This could be:

  • if your company or organization wants to bring a group to FISH;
  • if you want to individually volunteer on a regular basis;

After filling out the form, our Volunteer Coordinator, Jamie Osborne, will contact you within 2 weeks.

Note:  We do a background check on all of our volunteers 18+.

Offsite Projects

If you are interested in doing an offsite project individually or with a group, check out these options that are good for all ages!

Youth Volunteer Opportunities

FISH’s Youth Engagement Squad (YES)!

Applications are now closed.

FISH’s Youth Engagement Squad (YES) is made up of dedicated, energetic students in 8th through 11th grade who live and/or go to school in Broomfield and have an interest in community service. YES is a great opportunity to give back to the community, meet other youth from across the county, and enhance leadership skills.

Applications for the 2024 term are now closed. We will open up applications for the 2025 term in November 2024.

You must be at least 16 years old to volunteer in the FISH Marketplace. A parent/guardian must sign your Volunteer Application if you are 16-17 years old. Due to COVID, FISH is NOT accepting court ordered community service volunteers at this time.

Volunteer Spotlight:

Cheryl Bruning

This month, we are highlighting a Monday, Wednesday, AND Friday volunteer, Cheryl! Cheryl has been volunteering with FISH for close to two years and over that time has helped make FISH the warm, friendly, family environment it is! Some of her favorite aspects of volunteering include helping the shoppers and their families, who, as Cheryl shares, “are so gracious to me and I feel the warmth they show.” She has also learned a lot about produce and shares her knowledge with our families! When Cheryl is not at FISH, you can find her reading a mystery novel, working on 1000-piece puzzles with her husband, or going to the mountains to view the gorgeous scenery. Thank you Cheryl for all the time, hard work, and joy you give to FISH every week!
