Food Donations and Drives

You can drop off food and personal care donations on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8 am – 4:30 pm and Thursdays between 8 am – 12 pm using the EAST SIDE donation door. Just be sure to find someone to weigh in your donation and record it at our kiosk.

If you do not need a receipt, you can drop off non-perishable items in the bins at any Broomfield King Soopers!

Do you have a home or community garden?

You can donate home-grown produce to our marketplace! Whether you have a few extra veggies or you plant a whole row for FISH, all donations are greatly appreciated.

Tips for a successful food drive!

1. Make a Plan:

Consider whether you want to host the food drive independently, organize it for your school or church, coordinate with your neighborhood, or plan a drive for your workplace. Each option presents unique opportunities for collaboration, outreach, and impact!

2. Choose Dates and Location:

Select dates and a convenient location for your food drive. If you are doing it at school, church, work, or a similar space, consider setting up your collection boxes or bins in easily-visible, high-traffic areas. Many folks who host a drive with their neighborhood will leave a donation bin on their porch!

3. Promote Your Food Drive:

Spread the word far and wide in your personal and professional networks! We have a food/personal care drive toolkit with customizable flyers, social media graphics, email templates, and more to streamline your promotional efforts.

4. Provide Guidance on Accepted Items:

Remind donors that FISH can accept non-perishable food and personal care donations in their original packaging. For more information on food and personal care donations, see our FAQs.

5. Offer Incentives:

Consider making your drive a friendly competition between different grades, teams, or groups. This can add a level of excitement and motivation for participants, as they strive to outdo one another in collecting donations.

6. Encourage Monetary Donations:

When you register your drive, you have the option to have a corresponding online fundraising page for monetary donations. Donating online is a great alternative for folks who cannot give physical items, and the funds they contribute can be used to purchase high-need food items in bulk at discounted rates to fill gaps in our food inventory.

7. Plan Donation Drop-off Times:

We may be able to help with transporting donations if you are expecting to collect more than 1,000 items or 1,000 pounds. Please be sure to indicate this on the food drive registration form. Otherwise, we ask that organizers bring their donations to FISH during the following timeframes:

Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Thursdays: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

Please use the EAST SIDE donation door for drop-offs and find someone to weigh in your donation and record it at our kiosk.
