Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Broomfield FISH! Give the gift of your time and talent as a Broomfield FISH volunteer and make a direct impact.  Our volunteers are vital to the work we do! They sort and track food donations, meet with clients, assist at fundraising events and much more.

Please sign-up below for shifts that work best for you. If you have not completed a FISH Volunteer Application, you will need to do so when you arrive at FISH for your first shift.

FISH is NOT accepting court-ordered community service volunteers at this time.

Youth Volunteer Opportunities

FISH’s Youth Engagement Squad (YES)!

Applications for 2025 are now closed.

FISH’s Youth Engagement Squad (YES) is made up of dedicated, energetic students in 8th through 11th grade who live and/or go to school in Broomfield and have an interest in community service. YES is a great opportunity to give back to the community, meet other youth from across the county, and enhance leadership skills.

Applications for the 2026 term will open in winter of 2025.

Learn more about the YES HERE.

You must be at least 16 years old to volunteer in the FISH Marketplace. A parent/guardian must sign your Volunteer Application if you are 16-17 years old. Due to COVID, FISH is NOT accepting court ordered community service volunteers at this time.

Volunteer Spotlight:

Jimit and Jash Bhalavat

This month, we highlight two brothers who have been volunteering with FISH for over a year now – Jimit and Jash!

Jimit (pictured on the right) joined FISH as a volunteer in September of 2023, and is part of our Wednesday afternoon crew. Jimit’s favorite part of volunteering is “witnessing families take home food and knowing they won’t face immediate food insecurity. It’s especially meaningful to know that children will have the nourishment they need to focus on their education and pursue their dreams without the burden of hunger.” When he isn’t at FISH, Jimit likes to hike, travel, and spend quality time with family and friends.

Jash (pictured on the left) started volunteering with FISH in December of 2023, and you can catch him helping out in our marketplace on Friday afternoons. Jash appreciates that at FISH “everything is very well organized, the community is very generous, and most of all, the people are so welcoming that I feel like I’ve been here forever! I especially enjoyed Stamp Out Hunger mostly because I got to ride in the truck, but it was also really great to see the whole community pitch in.” Outside of FISH, Jash enjoys running and reading!

Thank you to the Bhalavat brothers for your dedicated support of FISH every week!
